Coastal Art Now on Display in the Oregon Capitol

Thanks to the Lincoln City Cultural Center the Oregon Capitol has new art on display. Five coastal landscape photographs by local artists Vonelle Swanson and Ralph Elliott are on now hanging in State Rep. David Gomberg’s outer office. Gomberg regularly hosts rotating art exhibitions when the Legislative Assembly is in session.

“The Oregon coast is blessed with incredible natural beauty. It is a pleasure to bring some of that inside to share with folks as they go about their business,” Gomberg said. “It is also a great opportunity to highlight and promote the strong arts scene on the Oregon coast. The Lincoln City Cultural Center is an important part of our community and I’m happy to help show them off.”

Niki Price, executive director of the Lincoln City Cultural Center delivered and installed the pieces in the Capitol last week. Rep. Gomberg introduced Price from the House floor.

The works to display were selected by gallery director Krista Eddy. The artwork is on display in Room 371 in the House office wing; the public is encouraged to visit.
